Free speech and the right-to-strike are under attack in Queensland.
They came for Palestine activists, and they're coming for Unionists.
The Qld Crisafulli LNP government has criminalised two phrases used to express solidarity with Palestinians: "from *** river to the sea" and "globalise *** intifada". Saying or displaying these phrases in Qld is now a criminal offence that carries a maximum sentence of two years in prison or $25,035 fine. Since these laws were passed in March 2026, more than 30 Queenslanders have been charged with this criminal offence.
Now the QLD Government is coming after Unionists to stop workers from striking and taking protected industrial action to fight for better working conditions.
We won't stand by while they try to take our rights and free speech away.
