Thoroughbred Park is being rezoned - and public comment is now open. It’s a prime location for more community facilities and homes - on the light rail line, near the city and easy for people to get to.
But the proposed plan is super limited - minor tweaks to allow fancy unaffordable, apartments and some retail to prop up the racetrack.
It won’t deliver the things people in our area need right now like schools or health facilities - despite our current ones bursting at the seams. Or parks, playgrounds and the green spaces we want as our city densifies. This site could have new indoor sporting facilities.
But that’s not being considered. You have the power to make a difference, to get it on the plans and to push for facilities that people want and need.
So the ACT Greens are hosting a series of stalls to get people's views on what needs the community needs and wants.
