Join us for an insightful discussion about how variants of direct democracy work across the world.

Grassroots participatory democracy is one of the Greens’ core values.

Direct democacy is more than just citizens' initatives and referenda, and there are numerous examples and variants around the world of direct democracy and voter engagement within representative democracy.

Join us for a public online forum organised by the Queensland Greens’ Participatory Democracy Circle where we unpack some of the benefits, challenges and myths around direct democracy.

In the spirit of mutual education, this discussion will kick off with a presentation from QLD Greens member Stephen Morris, who has a keen interest in this subject and prepares a monthly report on direct democracy around the world.

This event is open to anyone with an interest in direct democracy. Moderators reserve the right to eject attendees who are disruptive or intentionally derailing the conversation.
